The La Quinta Griffin Ranch Community
as we know it today, was first envisioned by entertainment icon Merv Griffin. Mr. Griffin decision to take a large portion of his estate and turn it into a luxury equestrian community in 2005. Sadly Mr. Griffin died in August 2007 just as his dream community opens and the first grouping of homes become available.
This is also the same year that the economy takes a turn for the worse, so all homes are put on hold, including the ones that are already ordered. For the sixty homeowners that have already moved into Griffin Ranch, they are left wondering what will happen next?
In 2013, the construction company Lennar purchased the La Quinta Griffin Ranch Community and takes charge of finishing Mr. Griffin dream. They saw the potential that Griffin Ranch would bring to La Quinta.
The first thing they do is finish out all “standing orders”. The next thing is they hold extensive talks with all parties to change the original design of the community from an equestrian community to one that is only equestrian friendly. This means that instead of having stables inside the community as planned, now there is not but you can still ride horses on the already laid out trails around the community.
La Quinta Griffin Ranch Club
The Griffin Ranch Club is the heart of this community. The club center is a 15,000 square foot, at the center of Griffin Ranch and offers residents a full equipped fitness center, pool, tennis courts, pickleball courts, scenic hiking trails, and plenty of areas to just relax for the day. There is even an area just for the kids, Splash Park, so the adults can relax.
